Jury & Methodology

About 300 Law Firms are selected according to a range of studies, surveys and rankings; among which, publications of the organizing group: Leaders League.
Jury members made up of more than 100 General Counsels of Fortune 500 companies or equivalent, also make their recommendations.
Other references such as International rankings are also used to enhance this preselection. 
Nominees and laureates are selected by Jury members according to the following criteria:

1) National and regional awards in corporate practice

  • Expertise in M&A (dominant), Tax Law and Antitrust (support) practices
  • General achievements in the domestic and regional market
  • Filled in application form

2) Intellectual Property awards

  • Expertise in Patent, Trademark, Litigation and Prosecution
  • If not specified, expertise in general Intellectual Property practice with a focus on Patent Prosecution
  • General achievements in the domestic and regional market
  • Filled in application form

3) For the USA

  • Expertise in the corresponding practice
  • General achievements in the domestic market
  • Filled in application form
25 specialized jury panels, with a total of over 100 In-House Lawyers, elect the winners of each category.

The extremely rigorous and confidential judging process is based on the experience and market knowledge of jury members, as well as on the information provided by nominees.

During the Awards ceremony, the name of laureates is revealed and laureates are rewarded for their excellence with Gold Awards, while all the other nominees receive Silver Awards acknowledging their performances.

Rising Star Awards also recognize high potential practices which have shown remarkable evolution and are catching up with current leaders.
